If you’re planning a wedding, graduation party, or any other party or event, figuring out how many and what kind of tables and chairs to rent can be difficult. This is especially tough if your guest list is in flux or subject to change at the last minute. Then, you need to consider the space you’re in and determine a table configuration, also thinking about food, drinks, space for guests to mingle and move about, and more. Sound too complicated? High-top tables to the rescue!
Why Rent High-Top Tables?
High-top tables are also known as cocktail tables, pub tables, bar tables, bistro tables, cabaret tables, or just high-tops. They are generally between 36 and 42 inches tall (compared to traditional tables, which run between 28 and 30 inches). We have both round and square tables for rent.
High-tops usually don’t have chairs. Instead, guests stand at tables. This allows them to move freely and mingle more easily, instead of being seated at the same table throughout an event. While there may not be enough room to set down a full plate of food, it’s the perfect amount of space for a drink and appetizer plates.
In addition, high-top tables take up less space, improving the flow of guests and vendors throughout the party. And because they’re a more flexible option, party planners won’t have to identify an exact number of chairs or a firm seating chart. In short, high-top tables make party planning easier!
Things to Consider When Renting High-Top Tables
Of course, high-tops won’t work for every guest at every party. Here are a few things to keep in mind when planning your table and chair rental:
- Do any of your guests have physical limitations that would prevent them from standing?
- What is the average age of your guests?
- What food and drinks will you be serving?
- How many guests are you inviting?
- How much space do you have for tables and chairs?
Ultimately, a mix of high-top and standard tables will be your best bet. This allows guests to move about and mingle when it works for them, but also offers them a seat when they need it.
In addition, there are some situations when you want guests to come, but you might not want them to stay all night, due to budget, space, or just your bedtime. If you don’t provide chairs, they won’t get as comfortable!
