For many Minnesotans (including all of us here at Broadway Party & Tent Rental), the 10 days of the Minnesota State Fair are the best days of the year. From the food to the animals, the music to the simple joy of people-watching, the state fair is something to behold.
If you love the fair as much as we do, why not celebrate it all summer long by incorporating fair-themed food and décor into your next party? We’ll share a few ideas for a memorable state fair-themed party below.
What screams “state fair” more than a corn dog? The small size of these beer battered mini corn dogs make them a perfect party snack. Serve with chipotle ketchup for some extra flair.
Kettle corn is another state fair staple that’s easy to recreate at home. All you need is popcorn, oil, sugar and salt. You can use a stovetop popcorn popper or simply a big pan with a lid! Serve the popcorn in inexpensive bags to keep it affordable.
And finally: Chocolate Covered Bacon. Enough said.
Greet guests, hand out tickets or take photos in this DIY ticket booth – made out of an old refrigerator box! (Don’t have a big box? Ask on Facebook or Nextdoor to see if anyone has a box they were planning to toss.)
Use multicolored cupcake liners to create a fair-inspired and inexpensive backdrop.
Broadway has several carnival games for rent! Keep it retro with stand a bottle, a ping pong ball toss or milk bottle toss. Or, go back to basics with a burlap sack race. We also rent a duck pond, tic tac toe and more.
